Wegener granulomatosis as an uncommon cause of panhypopituitarism in childhood

Wegener granulomatosis is an antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (cANCA)-associated, multi-system, necrotizing granulomatous vasculitis. Inflammation of nasal or oral mucosa, lung and kidney involvements are typical in the course of the disease. It was first described by Friedrich Wegener in 1939, and has an incidence rate of 1 in 100 000 people, often observed in individuals aged between 25 and 50 years, but uncommon in children and adolescent.
